About the Awards

The 29th Sexual Freedom Awards will be held in London in the Spring of 2025. Watch this space and join our mailing list to be notified of developments.

Nominations are open now!

The Sexual Freedom Awards promote excellence in erotic performance and sexual services and celebrates pioneers in the field of sexuality. The proceeds of the Awards ceremony are used to fund the work of the Outsiders Trust – a charity which supports disabled people in their sexual freedom and expression. Nominations for the Awards are accepted for individuals, services and organisations.

The Sexual Freedom Awards evolved out of the international Erotic Awards, which were run by Tuppy Owens in London once a year from 1994–2013. The Awards were famous for their Golden Flying Penis Trophies, hand carved for the event in Bali. This trophy is still presented to winners on the night.

"Being selected as a finalist in these awards is the glory and winning is the icing on the cake."

About our trophy

Nyoman Selamet

We thank Nyoman Selamet, who has taken over as our contact in Bali and Ketut Selamet, the artist who crafts them. If you need any stuff made in Bali, you can email him at: selametnyoman44@gmail.com

If it wasn't for Laura Doe, a former winner, we would not have been in contact with Nyoman. For at least 30 years Emily Redditt-Bayley organised the making of the trophies in Bali. She can't carry on but if it wasn't for her generosity this iconic item would never have existed. Tuppy, who founded the Awards as the Erotic Awards, walked into a shop one day run by Emily and saw the work she imported. Together they devised and designed the trophy. Ever since then the trophies have been made in Bali. It is a tradition that we never want to lose.
